On a number of occasions, Greg's story has become incorporated into a school assignment or a reading list.  In some of those instances, teachers and/or students have sent us copies of essays they wrote after reading the story.  In one instance, Greg's story was assigned to high school students in conjunction with Schindler's List (directed by Steven Spielberg) and Night (written by Elie Wiesel).  It was part of a unit on tolerance and diversity.  These are excerpts from a few of the essays the students wrote as part of that class:

"...Oscar Schindler, Elie Wiesel and Greg Forbes Siegman are perfect examples for change...They helped us realize that we should speak out on our opinions and do something about racism and bigotry in the world today...Elie, Oscar and Greg are three individuals who we can learn from because of their heroism to take a stand and pointing out racism and bigotry in the world.  They have inspired me to stand up for what I believe in and help change the world one step at a time."  - Rosemarie

"Even after the first 3 paragraphs, I was determined to finish, even if the story took me a year, it just put such a positive effect on me, that it was probably the first story, that really put a feeling into my heart...It just put me into my thinking mood, and made me think harder than I ever thought before..."  --Art

"What is the meaning of life? One definition could be to leave a profound effect on others you encounter in life. It's safe to say that Elie Wiesel, Oscar Schindler and Greg Forbes Siegman have all achieved, to some degree, that meaning of life. These three men have all changed people's lives in some way.  These three men have also faced adversity and overcome it...Their courage and fortitude proves that anyone can make a difference if they put their mind to it...All three were faced with negative situations and all three came out on top...In summation, Greg Forbes Siegman, Oscar Schindler and Elie Wiesel are three human beings who personify what life should be all about, affecting other people's lives in a positive way." - Alex

"Wow, I mean, what can you say to something like that, except for "Wow"?  That is a truly amazing story.  I mean, WOW...Greg truly has a gift. I just want to say it's 9:26 pm. and I was supposed to go to bed 26 minutes ago, but finishing this story was, to be honest, more important to me than getting a decent night's sleep..."  -Travis

"As I got through the first couple of pages, I started to realize how touching of a story this was. I was so into the story that I read it all the way through.  After I was done reading it, I told my parents to read it themselves. They ended up loving the story too..." - Steve
